We are seeking an experienced Senior CICS product engineer who is specialized in managing and maintaining IBM's CICS software. The ideal candidate will be responsible for full CICS lifecycle, including installation, configuration, maintenance. Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of CICS MF infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability.


As a Product Engineer for CICS, you will work closely with the development, operations, and infrastructure teams to provide high-level technical expertise on CICS application lifecycle management. You will contribute to the overall strategic direction of the CICS systems in alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:



Install, configure, and manage CICS systems on IBM mainframe environments. Setting up and administration of CICSPlex environments. Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of CICS applications and environments to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability. Work with teams to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex CICS-related issues, ensuring minimal system downtime. Perform capacity planning, system tuning, and performance optimization for CICS systems. Oversee CICS system migrations, upgrades, and patches while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Develop and enforce best practices, guidelines, and standards for CICS application development, deployment, and maintenance. Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, propose solutions, and manage change requests related to CICS applications. Ensure the integration of CICS systems with other mainframe and distributed environments. Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions. Maintain documentation for CICS systems and processes, ensuring that all changes are accurately recorded and auditable. Assist in disaster recovery and business continuity planning for CICS environments.

Qualifications:



12+ years of hands-on experience in CICS lifecycle management, including installation, configuration, and optimization. Strong knowledge of CICS transaction processing, performance tuning, debugging, and problem resolution. Expertise in CICS-related tools (e.g., CICS Explorer, CICS Performance Analyzer, CICS related ISV products, etc.) and integration with other mainframe systems. In-depth understanding of CICS security management and compliance protocols. Familiarity with CICS interfaces, including MQ, zOS Connect, and external systems integration. Extensive experience with CICS upgrade and patch management processes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex CICS issues. Knowledge of disaster recovery processes and techniques related to CICS systems. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:



Knowledge of JCL, REXX, Basic COBOL, SQL and other mainframe scripting languages.
