Job Description

An IT Field Engineer installs, maintains, and troubleshoots IT hardware and software at client sites, providing on-site technical support, and ensuring smooth operation of IT systems. They are customer-facing, spend a significant portion of their time on-site, and require strong problem-solving, communication, and technical skills. Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Configuration:

Install, configure, and set up IT hardware and software, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, network devices, and other peripherals.

Maintenance and Repair:

Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of IT hardware and software.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve technical issues with IT systems, applications, and hardware, both remotely and on-site.

On-Site Support:

Provide on-site technical support to clients, including training, guidance, and assistance with IT systems.

Documentation and Reporting:

Document technical issues, solutions, and maintenance activities.

Customer Communication:

Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide technical support, and ensure their satisfaction.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with other IT professionals, engineers, and technicians to resolve complex issues.

Staying Current:

Keep abreast of the latest advancements in IT technologies.

Technical Expertise:

Strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
