Job Description

Job Summary:


The IT Assistant supports the organization's daily IT operations by providing, managing


hardware assets, coordinating onsite IT support, technical assistance and ensuring smooth


functioning of IT infrastructure. The role works closely with the IT Manager/Administrator to


support employees, manage IT assets, and maintain accurate documentation.

Requirements




Key Responsibilities:


1. Hardware & Onsite Support


Provide onsite/online hardware support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners,


and other IT devices.


Diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues promptly.


Perform routine preventive maintenance and health checks on equipment.


Support system setup for new joiners, asset transfer and system configuration.


2. Technical Support


Provide first-level technical assistance to employees via phone, email, or on-site.


Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues.


Install, configure, and update operating systems, applications, and devices.


Handle antivirus software installation, updates, and upgrades to ensure system


security.


3. Asset Management


Maintain up-to-date records of all IT assets, including laptops, desktops, printers and


accessories.


Handle asset transfer requests between departments and branches.


Handle new asset requirements from branches and departments, arrange


procurement if needed, and assign assets accordingly.


Update asset documentation, tagging, and tracking regularly.


Prepare quarterly asset decommission lists and coordinate with the IT Manager for


approvals and disposal.

4. Network & Security Support


Assist in monitoring network connectivity and resolving basic network issues.


Support the implementation of security policies, antivirus updates, and backups.


Ensure compliance with IT security standards and reporting deviations.


5. Administrative & Documentation


Maintain logs of IT issues, resolutions, and hardware activities.


Prepare regular reports, documentation, and asset records.


Assist in IT procurement coordination and maintain contact details of external


vendors for timely support.


6. Coordination & Assistance


Coordinate with vendors and service partners for onsite repair and support.


Assist in training employees on basic IT tools, usage, and best practices.


Support IT projects, system upgrades, and deployment activities.


Qualifications & Skills:


Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Information Technology (Hardware), Computer


Science, or related field.


Technical Skills


Strong hardware knowledge is a must (laptop/desktop troubleshooting, component


diagnosis, replacements).


Basic understanding of Windows/Mac OS, MS Office, networking, and IT peripherals.


Familiarity with routers, switches, and common office IT devices.


Experience:


0-2 years of experience in IT Hardware support or similar roles.


Freshers with strong hardware knowledge can also apply.
