Job Description

An IT Executive in a hotel manages the hotel's technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks, to ensure smooth operations and excellent guest experience. Responsibilities include technical support for staff and guests, managing IT budgets, implementing new systems and policies, ensuring IT security, and coordinating with vendors for systems like Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS). Key skills for this role are strong technical knowledge, leadership, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication. Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Management:

Oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot all hotel IT systems, including servers, networks, and hardware.

Technical Support:

Provide technical support and assistance to hotel staff and guests for various IT-related issues.

System Implementation:

Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, software, and other network devices.

IT Security:

Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of systems and data, protecting against unauthorized access.

User Management:

Create and manage user accounts, passwords, and security parameters for all hotel systems.

Vendor Coordination:

Liaise with vendors to ensure the timely and effective implementation of new software and hardware.

Budget Management:

Develop and manage the department's IT budget effectively.

Performance Monitoring:

Monitor system performance, maintain logs, and implement changes to improve efficiency.

New Technology Integration:

Research and implement new technologies to enhance hotel operations and guest experience.
Essential Skills

Technical Expertise:

Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux systems, hotel management software (like Opera or IDS), network appliances, and security protocols.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to analyze issues and provide effective solutions.

Leadership and Communication:

Skills to lead teams, influence decision-making, and provide clear communication with staff and management.

Customer Service:

An understanding of the importance of IT systems in delivering an excellent guest experience.

Strategic Thinking:

Ability to plan, organize, and implement technology solutions that support the hotel's goals.
