(Hotel Focus)
The role will primarily focus on providing technical support to both staff and guests, and maintaining the hotel's critical systems.
Typical Responsibilities
System Support
1. Hotel Systems Maintenance: Ensure the smooth and reliable operation of hotel-specific software, including:
PMS (Property Management System): For front desk, reservations, and check-in/out.
POS (Point of Sale) Systems: Used in restaurants and other outlets.
Back-Office Software: Accounting, HR, and administrative systems.
2. Hardware & Software Support: Perform routine maintenance, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for: Desktops, laptops, and workstations.Printers, scanners, and other peripherals.Operating systems and all standard hotel software.
Network & Connectivity
1. Network Monitoring: Monitor the local area network (LAN) and Wi-Fi infrastructure for stability and performance.
2. Internet Services: Ensure continuous and high-speed internet connectivity for both staff and guests.
3. Telephony/PABX: Maintain the hotel's phone systems and inter-departmental communication lines.
Guest Technology
1. Guest Support: Provide prompt and courteous technical support to guests regarding in-room Wi-Fi connectivity, TV/Entertainment systems, or other technology issues.
2. In-Room Tech: Maintain and troubleshoot smart TVs, digital signage, and other in-room technological amenities.
Security & Data
1. Data Backup: Ensure regular and secure backups of critical hotel data (reservations, accounts, etc.).
2. Basic Security: Implement basic cybersecurity measures like antivirus updates and monitoring firewalls/network security under the guidance of a supervisor.
3. Inventory: Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT hardware, software licenses, and consumables.
User & Administrative
1. Technical Training: Provide basic IT training and guidance to other hotel staff on new software or best practices.
2. Documentation: Maintain documentation for IT procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
3. Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external IT vendors for specialized support, repairs, and system upgrades.
