Position Summary: The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for governance and management of public cloud platforms as well as designing, implementing, and maintaining backup and disaster recovery (DR) infrastructure for both on-premise systems and Cloud native solutions. This role also involves creating and managing documentation for DR processes, conducting regular DR tests, and ensuring the resilience of our data management systems. Key Responsibilities: Define and enforce access controls, security policies, and compliance standards across cloud environments. Design cloud architecture frameworks that support scalable, resilient, and secure applications and services. Lead the deployment and configuration of cloud infrastructure based on approved architectural designs and industry best practices. Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and performance. Design, implement, and maintain robust backup and DR infrastructure for on-prem and cloud native solutions. Assess backup and DR solutions against best practices in recovery and identify necessary improvements. Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation for backup and DR processes. Plan, schedule, and execute regular DR tests to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of DR plans. Provide expertise and support during disaster recovery tabletop exercises to assess gaps or problems with the DR plan Provide expertise and support during ransomware discovery and recovery tabletop exercises to assess gaps and readiness in the backup configurations and plan Provide expertise and support during disaster recovery situations to minimize downtime and data loss. Continuously assess and improve backup and DR strategies based on evolving technologies and business needs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in backup and disaster recovery engineering. Experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, OCI Experience with Access management Knowledge of backup and DR solutions, including software and hardware components. Experience with DR planning, implementation, and testing. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for data protection and disaster recovery. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
