Job Description

We are seeking a skilled

IT Administrator - Networking & Hardware Specialist

to oversee and maintain our organization's network infrastructure, hardware assets, and server environments. In this role, you will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our internal IT ecosystem supporting approximately 200 employees.



The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in network management, hardware maintenance, operating systems, and firewall administration--particularly Sophos. You will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of a wide range of systems and devices used across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Management

Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN networks, routers, switches, and wireless systems to ensure secure and stable connectivity.

Hardware Management

Oversee procurement, installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals. Ensure all hardware delivers optimal performance and availability.

Operating System Administration

Install, configure, and manage Windows, Linux, and macOS environments. Apply updates, patches, and security enhancements consistently.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for employees. Provide timely support to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.

Server Administration

Manage physical and virtual server environments, storage solutions, and backup systems. Monitor server performance, ensure data integrity, and implement disaster recovery processes.

Firewall & Security Management

Administer firewall systems (with a strong preference for Sophos). Enforce security policies, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention mechanisms.

Documentation

Maintain detailed and accurate documentation on network configurations, system changes, hardware inventory, and troubleshooting guidelines.

Vendor Coordination

Work with external vendors for procurement, maintenance, and technical support.

Team Collaboration

Partner with IT team members to support broader technology initiatives and contribute expertise to cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline. Proven experience in IT administration with specialization in networking and hardware management. Strong proficiency in Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems. Hands-on experience with server administration and virtualization technologies. Solid understanding of network security and firewall systems, especially Sophos. Exceptional troubleshooting abilities across hardware, software, and network environments. Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with diverse teams. Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft MCSA/MCSE are an advantage. * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage priorities, and adapt to evolving technologies.
