The IT Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure. This role focuses on server management, network administration, security, and ensuring the smooth operation of all IT systems. The IT Administrator will also provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support to users when required.
Key Responsibilities1. Server & System Administration
Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers
Manage Active Directory (users, groups, policies, permissions)
Handle server backups and disaster recovery processes
Perform system updates and patch management
Manage file servers and print servers
2. Network Administration
Configure and manage switches, routers, and firewall devices
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN/WiFi network issues
Configure VLANs, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and routing
Monitor and optimize network performance
3. Security Management
Manage endpoint security tools (antivirus, EDR, firewall policies)
Ensure data protection and access control
Conduct regular system and security audits
Implement backup and disaster recovery policies
4. Cloud & Email Administration
Manage Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace admin consoles
Create and manage user mailboxes and security settings
Handle SharePoint, OneDrive, and cloud storage management
Monitor licenses and cloud resources
5. IT Asset Management & Documentation
Maintain IT asset records, licenses, and inventory
Prepare and update network diagrams, SOPs, and configuration documents
Coordinate with vendors (hardware, software, ISP, AMC vendors)
6. L2/L3 Technical Support
Resolve advanced technical issues escalated from IT support
Handle complex incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA)
Ensure minimal downtime and smooth IT operations
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Active Directory
Networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, VPN, VLANs, routing, switching)
Firewall configuration experience (Fortigate, SonicWall, Cisco, etc.)
Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace administration
Basic knowledge of virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills
Good communication and customer-handling skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field
2-4 years of experience in IT Administration or System Administration
Relevant certifications are a plus:
MCSA / MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator)
CCNA (Networking)
CompTIA Security+ / Network+ / A+
