Key Responsibilities:
Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient encounters
Determine correct MS-DRGs/AP-DRGs
Ensure coding is compliant with official guidelines, payer regulations, and internal policies
Query physicians when documentation is incomplete or unclear
Collaborate with CDI specialists and other healthcare professionals
Qualifications:
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent CIC
2+ years of inpatient coding experience preferred
Strong knowledge of DRG assignment, coding guidelines, and medical terminology
