IoT Systems Expert / Embedded IoT Consultant

Type:

Contract / Freelance / Short-Term (Project-Based)

Location:

On-site (Chennai-based client preferred) + Remote collaboration possible

Objective:

We are seeking an experienced IoT Systems Expert to diagnose and resolve a

3-hour delay

in real-time data (e.g., RPM, power telemetry) being transmitted from field devices (crusher machines) to a web-based cloud dashboard.

The ideal candidate will have

hands-on expertise in Teltonika devices (FMB125)

RTCU Gateway v2.10

, and

end-to-end edge-to-cloud data architecture

.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and troubleshoot the existing IoT setup, including: Teltonika FMB125 GSM/GNSS terminal RTCU L&T Gateway v2.10 Elite 300 RPM meter and power sensors Identify causes of delays in device-to-server data transmission Verify and optimize data push intervals, network connectivity, buffer handling, and device clock synchronization Validate communication protocols: MQTT, TCP/IP, RS232/RS485, analog/digital IO Review and improve cloud ingestion layer (e.g., MQTT broker, APIs, queues, DB insertions) Coordinate with web development team to ensure frontend reflects near real-time data Document findings and implement improvements to reduce latency to under 5 minutes

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong background in IoT systems integration and industrial sensor data processing Hands-on experience configuring and debugging

Teltonika FMB devices (preferably FMB125)

via Teltonika Configurator or FOTA Familiar with

RTCU Gateways

, and

embedded controller programming

Expertise in

GSM/GNSS, RS232/RS485, Analog/Digital IO

, and power/RPM sensor interfacing Knowledge of cloud IoT services (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, or MQTT brokers) Understanding of

real-time data ingestion

, buffering, and reporting pipelines Ability to read and interpret system logs and timing discrepancies Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with on-site debugging

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's in Electronics, Instrumentation, Embedded Systems, or related fields Certifications in IoT or embedded systems (Teltonika, Azure IoT, MQTT, etc.) Experience with machine monitoring in manufacturing, construction, or mining industries

Duration:

Initial 1-2 week engagement for audit, diagnosis, and tuning. Extension possible based on further integration requirements.
