Job Purpose
The Inventory Management & Stock Replenishment Executive is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels across warehouses and distribution points in the food industry. The role focuses on stock planning, timely replenishment, inventory accuracy, expiry control, and coordination with production, procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted supply while minimizing losses and excess inventory.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Planning & Control
Monitor daily stock levels across warehouses, depots, and distributors.
Ensure inventory availability in line with sales forecasts, secondary sales trends, and seasonal demand.
Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/WMS systems.
Stock Replenishment & Allocation
Prepare and execute stock replenishment plans for warehouses, CFAs, and distributors.
Coordinate with production and procurement teams for timely replenishment based on demand and lead times.
Allocate stock to regions, channels, or customers as per approved plans and priorities.
Expiry, Batch & Quality Management
Monitor batch-wise inventory using FIFO / FEFO principles.
Track near-expiry, slow-moving, and obsolete stock and initiate corrective actions.
Coordinate with sales and quality teams for liquidation, returns, or disposal of expired stock.
Coordination with Warehouses & Logistics
Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure accurate inward, outward, and stock transfer postings.
Coordinate dispatches and inter-warehouse stock transfers to balance inventory.
Track transit inventory and resolve discrepancies related to shortages, damages, or delays.
MIS & Reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS on stock position, replenishment status, ageing, and fill rates.
Analyze inventory trends, stock cover, and replenishment efficiency and share insights with management.
Support demand planning and forecasting exercises with inventory data.
Documentation & Compliance
Ensure accurate documentation for stock movements including GRNs, STOs, delivery challans, and reconciliation reports.
Support internal and external audits by providing inventory-related records.
Ensure compliance with food safety, storage, and internal SOP requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate closely with sales teams to understand market demand and replenishment requirements.
Work with finance for inventory valuation, reconciliation, and closing stock reports.
Support new product launches by ensuring timely stock availability across locations.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of inventory management in the food/FMCG industry
Hands-on experience with FIFO / FEFO, batch tracking, and expiry control
Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/WMS systems, and data analysis
Strong analytical, coordination, and follow-up skills
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic supply chain environment
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Commerce, or a related field
Experience
Min. 2 years of experience in inventory planning, stock replenishment, or supply chain operations
Prior experience in food processing, FMCG, or perishable goods handling preferred
