to support applications on the

Skywise platform

.

The Airbus

Digital department

is spearheading the company's digital transformation. It leverages the

Skywise platform

(developed with Palantir) as the aviation industry's

revolutionary digital backbone

. Skywise uses big data, cloud technologies, and advanced analytics to enable crucial, data-driven decision-making across the digital domains.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience with

Foundry

, the core technology of Skywise, and explore how

Machine Learning (ML)

and

Generative AI (GenAI)

capabilities are integrated to solve real-world problems for

Airbus

.

Tasks & accountabilities

As an Intern, you will work closely with the Lead Developer, Product Owner, and a multi-skilled team. Your primary role will be to learn and contribute to the end-to-end development lifecycle of data-driven applications built on

Palantir Foundry

.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

Skywise/Foundry Application Development:

Assist the team in developing and testing front-end applications and interactive dashboards using

Foundry tools

like

Workshop

and

Slate

.

Data Engineering & Pipeline Support:

Support the implementation, testing, and optimization of

Data pipelines

and

Data Ingestion

flows, primarily utilizing

pyspark

,

Python

, and

SQL

.

ML and AI/GenAI Exploration:

Research and contribute to proof-of-concept projects focusing on integrating

LLMs (Large Language Models)

and

AIP (AI Platform)

tools into Skywise workflows.

This includes exploring how GenAI can be used for data summarization or enhancing user interaction within Foundry applications..

Code Quality and Review:

Participate in the

Code Review

process, learning to write and maintain high-quality, documented code that adheres to

Airbus Data Governance

and security best practices.

Documentation and Analysis:

Work with the Lead Developer to analyze simple business needs and assist in translating them into technical specifications and solution documentation.

Required skills

We are seeking curious, highly motivated students or recent graduates with a passion for modern IT solutions, data, and digital transformation challenges, especially those keen on ML/AI.

The skills you bring (Must Have)

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field

Foundational proficiency in

Python

and

SQL

.

Strong passion for learning about

Big Data Platforms

and

Cloud Environments

. Basic understanding of

Machine Learning

concepts.

Good verbal and written communication in

English

. Willingness to learn and explore new technologies quickly.

Ability to manage tasks and follow instructions.

Attention to detail for documentation and problem-solving.

Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field

Good to Have (not mandatory)

Foundational knowledge of

pyspark

and/or front-end languages (

JavaScript/TypeScript

).

Familiarity with

Agile

methodologies (Scrum/Kanban). Any coursework or project exposure to

LLMs/GenAI

or

MLOps

.

Knowledge related to

Aerospace Manufacturing

business processes.

Success Metrics:

Success in this internship will be measured by your engagement, technical learning progress, and the quality of your contributions to the team's development and research activities.

Key outputs will include:

Successful completion of assigned development tasks and bug fixes within the sprint timelines.

Demonstrating a solid understanding of the

Skywise/Foundry

platform

Delivery of well-researched documentation or a functional proof-of-concept related to the integration of

ML/GenAI

within a Foundry workflow.

The role will have the following key outputs:

Strong link with the Airbus Digital organization

Good quality code and participation in improvement of existing code

Proactive in providing guidance & inputs for the product's roadmap
