The Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes within the finance company, with a special focus on the gold loan portfolio. This includes conducting regular audits, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and verifying the accuracy and integrity of gold appraisal and valuation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Planning & Execution:
Develop and implement internal audit plans and schedules for branches and gold loan operations.
Conduct risk-based audits in line with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
Gold Appraisal Verification:
Perform independent verification of gold appraisal conducted at branch level.
Assess accuracy, fairness, and consistency of gold purity and weight valuation.
Ensure that appraisals align with company policy, and industry best practices.
Compliance & Internal Controls:
Evaluate effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
Ensure adherence to company policies, especially those related to gold loan disbursement, storage, and documentation.
Fraud Detection & Prevention:
Identify red flags in gold appraisal and loan issuance processes.
Investigate irregularities or discrepancies in gold loan records.
Reporting:
Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and actionable recommendations.
Present findings to management and follow up on implementation of corrective actions.
Policy Review & Development:
Assist in the development and periodic review of internal policies related to gold loans, appraisals, and asset security.
Training & Support:
Provide guidance and training to branch staff on proper gold handling and appraisal procedures.
Support operational teams in understanding and maintaining compliance standards.
