We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Testing Intern to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Software Tester Intern who is eager to gain practical experience in the field of Quality Assurance within an IT service environment. This role is a fantastic opportunity to learn industry-standard testing methodologies, tools, and processes, and contribute directly to the quality of our client-facing projects.
This is a 6-month paid internship.
Key Responsibilities
As a Software Tester Intern, you will work closely with our QA engineers and development teams to:
Execute Test Cases:
Run pre-defined test cases (both manual and automated) on various software applications to ensure functionality, performance, and user-friendliness.
Identify and Document Defects:
Log, track, and re-test software defects (bugs) using our defect tracking system (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
Contribute to Test Planning:
Assist senior testers in creating, updating, and maintaining test plans, test cases, and test data.
Perform Different Types of Testing:
Engage in various testing phases, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Report Status:
Provide clear and timely updates on testing progress and defect status to the QA Lead.
Learn and Apply Standards:
Adhere to QA standards, procedures, and best practices defined by the team.
What We're Looking For
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Basic understanding
of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) principles.
Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills
with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
to effectively describe issues and collaborate with team members.
Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) is a plus.
Must be a
self-starter
with a strong desire to learn and take ownership of tasks.
Good to Have
Familiarity with any defect tracking tool (e.g., Jira, Trello).
Basic knowledge of SQL or database concepts.
Exposure to automation testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) is a significant advantage.
