The role: Intern, Software Engineer (Web/Backend)

two roles

under our

Intern, Software Engineer

program, one focused on

Web development

, and the other on

Backend engineering

Role Specific

Web Development

You'll help design and build high-performance web applications that delight users and scale globally.

What you'll do:

Contribute to frontend architecture and feature development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks. Collaborate with designers, PMs, and backend engineers to bring features to life. Own UI performance, responsiveness, and visual polish.

What we're looking for:

Prior internship or strong personal or academic projects in

frontend development

. Hands-on experience with

HTML, CSS, JavaScript

, and frameworks like Tailwind or similar. A detail-oriented mindset with strong design-to-implementation execution. Curiosity about performance, user experience, and cross-browser compatibility.

Backend Engineering

You'll contribute to building scalable, high-performance backend services that power the Headout platform.

What you'll do:

Design and implement backend modules, APIs, and systems. Collaborate on architectural decisions and system-level problem solving. Work across databases, cloud infrastructure, and internal tools.

What we're looking for:

Prior internship experience or strong backend-focused personal or academic projects. Solid grounding in

CS fundamentals

(OOP, networking, databases). Experience with

Java or Spring

, SQL or NoSQL databases, and an interest in scalable system design. A problem-solving mindset with a hunger to optimize for performance and reliability.
