Role Overview

As a

Local News Correspondent Intern

, you will act as the eyes and ears of your community. Your role is to

identify, report, and document local events, human-interest stories, and emerging trends

within your area.

On-ground news gathering

- Attend local events, interview community members, and capture significant happenings.

Research & verification

- Ensure accuracy by cross-referencing sources before submission.

Content creation

- Draft engaging articles, social media posts, or short video segments.

Photojournalism

- Capture compelling images that enhance storytelling.

Collaboration

- Work alongside editors to refine your stories before publication.

Ideal Candidate

Passionate about storytelling and journalism

Strong communication & writing skills

Ability to identify local news-worthy events

Basic knowledge of photography & social media is a plus

Comfortable engaging with people & conducting interview
