The Candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate
quotations, material take-offs, and bills of quantities
for custom furniture and interior projects. This role requires strong attention to detail, understanding of furniture materials, finishes, and hardware, as well as the ability to coordinate with design and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Quotation Preparation
Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for client projects based on drawings, designs, and specifications.
Ensure all cost elements (material, labour, hardware, polish, transportation, installation, overheads) are included.
Quantity & Material Calculation
Study design drawings and create detailed
Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
.
Calculate material requirements: plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, hardware, polish/PU, glass, upholstery, etc.
Identify wastage factors and optimize usage.
Costing & Pricing
Prepare detailed costing sheets for each item/project.
Maintain updated knowledge of material and labour costs.
Support management in pricing strategies to ensure profitability.
Vendor & Rate Coordination
Liaise with procurement to update vendor price lists.
Evaluate and compare vendor quotations to ensure accurate cost inputs.
Collaboration
Work with
design team
for clarity on specifications and finishes.
Coordinate with
production team
for feasibility and actual consumption feedback.
Support the
sales team
with technical clarifications during client discussions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree / Diploma in
Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
.
1-2 years of experience
in estimation/costing in furniture, interiors, or modular manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of materials (ply, MDF, laminates, veneers, polish, upholstery, hardware).
Proficiency in
MS Excel, AutoCAD, and BOQ preparation
.
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
Good communication & coordination skills.
