Interior Designer / Architect / Lighting Design Associate

We are looking for an Interior Designer, Architect, or professional from a closely related design discipline who wishes to deepen their engagement with light as a spatial and emotional medium.

This role is ideal for someone who thinks beyond decoration and understands architecture as an experience shaped by time, shadow, material, and movement.

Role Overview

You will work closely with senior designers and the principal to develop lighting concepts that respond sensitively to architecture and landscape. The role involves design thinking, visual communication, technical coordination, and on-site involvement.

This is not a drafting-only role, nor a purely technical position. It requires curiosity, judgement, and a strong design sensibility.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Conceptual Development

Develop lighting concepts aligned with architectural intent and human experience Translate spatial ideas into lighting narratives, mood studies, and design strategies Assist in the design of bespoke luminaires and custom lighting details Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and landscape consultants

Drawings & Documentation

Prepare lighting layouts, sections, and details using AutoCAD Assist in fixture specifications, schedules, and coordination drawings Support senior designers in design development and tender-stage documentation

Visual Communication

Create concept presentations, mood boards, and visual narratives Produce Photoshop-based concept renders and diagrams Assist in preparing client presentations and internal design decks

Site & Execution

Visit sites to understand architectural conditions and execution constraints Coordinate with contractors and vendors during installation Assist with focusing, aiming, and on-site mock-ups where required
Ideal Candidate Profile

Educational background in

Interior Design, Architecture, or a related design field

2-5 years of professional experience (interior design / architecture / lighting preferred) Strong spatial awareness and sensitivity to materials, textures, and form Ability to think conceptually, not just technically Comfortable working on high-end, detail-driven projects
Required Skills

AutoCAD (essential) Adobe Photoshop (essential for concepts and presentations) Strong visual sensibility and attention to detail Clear communication skills--verbal and visual Willingness to learn lighting principles deeply (training will be provided)
Preferred / Additional Skills (Not Mandatory)

Familiarity with lighting design concepts or prior exposure to lighting projects Experience with 3D software (SketchUp, Rhino, or similar) Understanding of site coordination and execution processes
