Interior Designer - Modular Furniture

Location:Bhatar

Reporting To

Design Head / Project Manager

Role Purpose

The Interior Designer will be responsible for

designing, detailing, and preparing AutoCAD drawings

for modular furniture and interior solutions, ensuring accuracy, manufacturability, and alignment with client requirements. The role involves close coordination with sales, production, and installation teams.

Key Responsibilities1. Design & Drawing Preparation

Prepare

detailed AutoCAD drawings

for: Modular kitchens Wardrobes Storage units Office and residential modular furniture Develop: Layout plans Elevations Sections Detailed shop drawings for manufacturing Modify designs as per client feedback and site conditions
2. Client & Site Coordination

Understand client requirements and translate them into functional designs Participate in client design discussions (as required) Coordinate with site team for measurements and design feasibility Prepare final drawings for execution and installation
3. Modular Furniture Detailing

Ensure drawings are

production-ready

with accurate: Dimensions Materials Finishes Hardware specifications Prepare

cut lists / BOQs

(if required) Ensure designs comply with standard modular dimensions and manufacturing constraints
4. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with: Sales team for design proposals Factory / production team for feasibility Installation team for execution clarity Support troubleshooting during production and installation stages
5. Design Documentation & Control

Maintain proper version control of drawings Ensure timely delivery of drawings as per project timelines Maintain design libraries of modular furniture components
Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills

Proficiency in

AutoCAD

(mandatory) Knowledge of: Modular furniture systems Joinery and carpentry details Materials, finishes, and hardware Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
Software Skills (Preferred)

SketchUp / 3ds Max (basic to intermediate) MS Excel / MS Office for documentation
Behavioral Skills

Strong attention to detail Good visualization and space-planning ability Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Clear communication with internal teams and clients
Qualification & Experience

Diploma / Degree in Interior Design or related field 2-5 years of experience in: Modular furniture companies Interior fit-out firms Experience in kitchen / wardrobe / modular furniture design preferred
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Accuracy and quality of drawings Timely completion of design deliverables Number of reworks due to design errors Coordination effectiveness with production and site teams
