Interior Designer - Roles & Responsibilities

Job Role

An Interior Designer is responsible for planning, designing, and coordinating interior spaces to meet client requirements while ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and budget alignment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Interaction & Communication

*Conduct client meetings to discuss design requirements, budget, and preferences.

*Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, engineers, and consultants.

Present design concepts, material choices, and project timelines.
Handle client feedback and implement necessary design modifications.

2. Design & Planning

Develop floor plans, layouts, and 3D renderings using design software.
*Prepare mood boards, sketches, and material boards for client approval.

Select color schemes, textures, furniture, and decor elements.
*Ensure functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetic balance in design execution.

3. Technical Proficiency & Documentation

Proficient in AutoCAD, 3D software, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Office.
*Develop technical drawings and specifications for execution.

Ensure site measurements and layout feasibility for implementation.

4. Project Coordination & Site Management

Conduct site visits to assess progress and ensure design alignment.
Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors for procurement and execution.
*Monitor project timelines and ensure timely material delivery.

*Supervise installation and finishing processes.

5. Budgeting & Timeline Management

*Prepare cost estimates and align designs within client budgets.

*Monitor expenses and suggest cost-effective solutions when required.

*Track project progress and ensure timely delivery within defined deadlines.

6. Knowledge & Research

*Updated on new materials, decor trends, and sustainable design solutions.

*Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations,

7. Additional Responsibilities

Capture project progress and final results through basic photography.
Assist in marketing efforts by documenting design work for portfolios.
Ensure post-project client satisfaction and feedback collection.

Required Skills & Competencies

Creativity & Attention to Detail -- Strong design sense and precision in execution.

Technical Proficiency -- AutoCAD, 3D modeling, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.

Project Management -- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?35,000.00 per month
