Position Summary

The Interior Designer / Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate design and technical drawings for elevator and escalator interiors. The role ensures that interior layouts, finishes, and detailing meet client requirements, safety standards, and manufacturing specifications while supporting smooth execution from design to installation.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed 2D/3D drawings and shop drawings for elevator cabins, interiors, COP/LOP panels, ceilings, flooring, and escalator finishes. Develop and modify interior design layouts in line with project specifications, architectural drawings, and client requirements. Specify interior materials, finishes, colors, and accessories appropriate for elevator and escalator applications. Coordinate with engineering, production, procurement, and installation teams to ensure design feasibility and accurate execution. Ensure timely submission of drawings for approval and incorporate feedback as required. Maintain proper documentation, drawing revisions, and version control. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines. Provide design support during manufacturing and site installation to resolve design-related issues.

Required Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, SolidWorks, or 3Ds Max is preferred. Strong understanding of interior detailing, materials, finishes, and fabrication drawings. Ability to interpret architectural and technical drawings. High attention to detail, time management, and coordination skills. Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Drafting. 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in elevator, escalator, manufacturing, or building services industries.
