Position Overview:

A 2D Interior Designer for residential projects is responsible for creating detailed floor plans, furniture layouts, elevations, and presentation drawings that accurately reflect the design intent. The role involves translating client requirements into functional and aesthetically pleasing 2D designs while ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with project standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop high-quality 2D drawings, including floor plans, furniture layouts, electrical layouts, and interior elevations for residential spaces. Prepare detailed working drawings and presentation boards for client approvals. Collaborate with senior designers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements and incorporate design feedback. Create mood boards, material boards, and conceptual 2D representations for client presentations. Ensure drawings adhere to residential design standards, measurements, and technical accuracy. Modify and update drawings based on client or site changes. Coordinate with site teams to ensure design execution aligns with 2D plans. Maintain organized project documentation and version control of drawings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a 2D Interior Designer or Draughtsman in residential design projects. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); knowledge of SketchUp Layout or other drafting tools is a plus. Good understanding of residential space planning, materials, and interior design standards. Ability to create clean, detailed, and accurate 2D drawings. Strong visualization, measurement interpretation, and technical drawing skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects. Strong communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Experience creating 2D designs for modular kitchens, wardrobes, and residential furniture layouts. Familiarity with Vastu considerations (if applicable). Knowledge of converting 2D drawings into 3D concepts is a plus.
