Position Summary
We're seeking a passionate, experienced
Interior Design Faculty Member
to join our academic faculty. You will deliver high-quality instruction, mentor students, and contribute to curriculum development--fostering a creative, inclusive environment that reflects IIFD's commitment to excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Engaging Lessons
Teach undergraduate (and potentially postgraduate) courses in Interior Design, covering theory, techniques, materials, and industry trends.
Balance conceptual instruction with practical studio-based assignments and workshops.
Curriculum Development
Design and enhance course content, lesson plans, project briefs, and assessment strategies.
Ensure curricula remain relevant to changing design trends and industry standards.
Student Mentorship
Guide and support students in project development, design research, critiques, and professional portfolio building.
Offer constructive feedback and personalized guidance to foster student growth.
Industry Connection & Exposure
Organize guest lectures, workshops, or field visits in collaboration with design professionals, studios, or firms.
Stay informed about evolving practices in architecture, interior design, sustainability, and material innovations.
Academic & Administrative Tasks
Conduct evaluations, maintain records, and report student progress.
Participate in departmental meetings, accreditation efforts, and institutional initiatives.
Engage in continuous professional development and knowledge-sharing with peers.
Desired Qualifications & SkillsMust-HavePreferred
Bachelor's or Master's in Interior Design, Architecture, or related fieldDoctorate in relevant disciplines3+ years of teaching or professional experienceIndustry collaborations or guest lecturing at design schoolsStrong understanding of design principles, materials, furniture, ergonomicsExperience in sustainable and eco-friendly design practicesProficiency with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite)Publications, exhibitions, or notable design acknowledgmentsExcellent communication, presentation, and mentoring abilitiesProven track record of leading design workshops or jurying competitions
