Job description:

We are seeking a dynamic and engaging

Interactive Librarian

to lead the transformation of our library into a vibrant learning hub. The ideal candidate will go beyond traditional library functions to foster a love for reading, support digital literacy, and collaborate with teachers and students to enrich the academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Create a welcoming, inclusive, and stimulating library environment for students and staff. Plan and conduct interactive reading sessions, book talks, storytelling, and literary activities. Collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources into the curriculum and classroom projects. Guide students in effective use of library materials, both print and digital, including research databases. Maintain and update the library collection, ensuring age-appropriate and diverse resources are available. Promote reading culture through events such as book fairs, reading challenges, author visits, and library clubs. Assist students in developing research, citation, and information evaluation skills. Manage library systems including cataloging, checkouts, returns, and inventory. Supervise and mentor student library helpers or volunteers. Ensure adherence to library policies and support a culture of respect and responsibility.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field. Prior experience with

atleast 3 years

as a librarian in an educational setting preferred.

Strong English communication

and interpersonal skills with a passion for engaging children. Knowledge of

library management systems and digital learning platforms

. Creativity, initiative, and enthusiasm for fostering a love for reading and learning. Ability to work collaboratively with academic staff and independently manage daily operations. Should have enthusiasm for storytelling, educational technology, and student-centered learning. Should have experience conducting interactive programs, clubs, or events. Familiarity with child development and age-appropriate reading material. Stay informed about emerging technologies and educational trends to enhance library services and resources. Help students to conduct research to evaluate search results and reference materials Understand general library practices.
