Job Description

Admit, assess and manage critically ill patients in the ICU under your care. Conduct daily ICU rounds, review all patients in the unit, revise plans of care. Provide advanced life-support: mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, renal replacement therapy, invasive lines (central venous, arterial), etc. Interpret diagnostic tests (blood work, imaging, ABGs, etc) and modify treatment accordingly. Initiate and monitor therapy for multi-organ failure, sepsis, respiratory failure, post operative critical care, and other ICU cases. Supervise transitions: ICU-ward transfers, step-down care, end?of?life care discussions and documentation. Be available for emergencies, code blue / rapid response calls (within hospital) related to ICU patients. Ensure adherence to ICU protocols, infection-control measures, sedation/analgesia and weaning protocols. Maintain detailed and accurate patient documentation: ICU daily notes, procedures, discharge/transfer summaries, death certificates.
