Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Intensivist to join our critical care team in a high-acuity ICU setting. This role focuses on delivering timely, evidence-based care to critically ill patients, with emphasis on managing complex conditions such as sepsis, shock, and respiratory failure. The ideal candidate will contribute to improved patient outcomes through expert clinical judgment, advanced monitoring, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. This is a foundational opportunity for early-career physicians to grow under mentorship while playing a vital role in life-saving care.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical management of critically ill patients in the ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Perform and interpret bedside point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) for rapid diagnosis and procedural guidance.
  • Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation, including weaning and troubleshooting.
  • Insert and manage central venous and arterial lines using sterile, safe techniques.
  • Diagnose and treat sepsis and shock using current clinical guidelines and early interventions.
  • Administer and titrate inotropes and vasopressors to maintain hemodynamic stability.
  • Implement individualized sedation and analgesia protocols to optimize patient comfort and safety.
  • Respond promptly to critical emergencies, including cardiac arrest and acute respiratory failure.
  • Collaborate with nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and consultants to ensure coordinated care.
  • Document patient care accurately and participate in rounds, case reviews, and quality improvement activities.
  • Stay current with advances in critical care through continuous learning and audit participation.
Requirements:
  • MBBS degree with postgraduate training in Internal Medicine, General Medicine, or a recognized Critical Care residency.
  • Foundational experience in ICU settings, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage emergencies such as septic shock, multiorgan failure, and acute respiratory failure.
  • Proficiency in performing and interpreting POCUS for cardiac, lung, and vascular assessment.
  • Experience with central line and arterial line placement.
  • Competency in titrating inotropes, vasopressors, sedatives, and analgesics based on clinical response.
  • Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills under pressure.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties.
  • Valid medical registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or equivalent.
  • Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and ongoing professional development.
