Overview
We are looking for a proactive Integration & Support Engineer with strong experience in IoT hardware and firmware engineering and a solid understanding of wireless communication technologies. This role is primarily remote (home-based) but requires close coordination with on-site teams during deployment and support of IoT projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on technical expertise, can troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues, and is comfortable guiding and supporting field engineers to ensure smooth IoT system deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Deployment & Integration Support
Coordinate with on-site teams during IoT hardware deployment, ensuring proper installation, configuration, and connectivity.
Provide remote technical support for IoT devices, gateways, and sensors during integration.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware, and connectivity issues in real time.
Document issues, fixes, and provide feedback to engineering teams for continuous improvement.
Hardware & Firmware Expertise
Apply knowledge of IoT hardware components (sensors, gateways, embedded devices) and their integration into larger systems.
Support firmware debugging and upgrades, working with development teams to resolve deployment issues.
Ensure seamless communication between IoT devices over wireless protocols such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, LTE/5G, or NB-IoT.
Validate system performance through logs, remote testing, and coordination with field technicians.
Client & Team Coordination
Act as a technical liaison between customers, on-site teams, and internal engineering groups.
Provide remote training and guidance to on-site technicians for troubleshooting and system setup.
Communicate deployment status, challenges, and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
3-6 years of hands-on experience in IoT hardware and firmware engineering.
Strong understanding of wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, LTE/5G, NB-IoT).
Proven experience supporting IoT deployments and resolving real-world hardware/firmware issues.
Ability to work remotely while effectively coordinating with on-site teams.
Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Prior experience in
customer-facing support roles
for IoT or hardware solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with embedded systems development and debugging tools.
Familiarity with remote device management platforms and over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates.
