Review and analyze insurance applications, supporting documents, and risk profiles to determine coverage eligibility.
Assess potential risks and recommend suitable policy terms, premium rates, and coverage limits.
Coordinate with insurance companies to obtain quotes, renewals, endorsements, and coverage details.
Prepare underwriting summaries, approvals, and documentation in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and update records of all insurance proposals, approvals, and renewals in system databases.
Collaborate with claims and operations teams to ensure consistency between underwriting and policy administration.
Assist in the renewal and endorsement process by reviewing existing policies and ensuring continued adequate coverage.
Prepare periodic reports on underwriting activities, accepted/rejected proposals, and portfolio performance.
Stay informed about insurance regulations, industry trends, and new product offerings.
Ensure compliance with company policies, IRDAI regulations, and underwriting guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in insurance underwriting, risk assessment, or related functions.
Good understanding of insurance products (life, health, or general) and underwriting principles.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
