. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems critical to safe and efficient plant operations. The role requires hands-on field experience in power plant instrumentation and a strong understanding of industrial control systems.
Key Responsibilities
Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of
field instruments
such as:
Pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters
Control valves, actuators, and positioners
Calibration and testing of instruments as per plant standards and statutory requirements
Monitoring and maintenance of
DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems
Loop checking, commissioning, and performance testing of instrumentation systems
Preventive and breakdown maintenance of instrumentation and control equipment
Analysis and rectification of instrumentation-related faults affecting plant availability
Coordination with operations, electrical, and mechanical teams for smooth plant functioning
Preparation and maintenance of documentation including:
Calibration records
SOPs and maintenance logs
Instrument datasheets and loop diagrams
Compliance with safety standards, statutory norms, and plant procedures
Support during shutdowns, overhauls, and audits
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in
Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics, or related field
3-5 years of relevant experience in
power plant instrumentation
Hands-on exposure to thermal power plant systems is mandatory
Technical Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of:
Industrial instrumentation and control systems
DCS / PLC architecture and logic
Control loops and process instrumentation
Experience with calibration tools and testing equipment
Ability to read and interpret:
P&IDs
Wiring diagrams
Loop diagrams and control logic
Familiarity with plant safety systems and interlocks
Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical skills
