The Instrument Engineer will be responsible for the selection, installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems used in the sewage treatment process. This role ensures that all instruments function efficiently to support the safe and compliant operation of the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Instrumentation Management:
Design and specify instruments for monitoring flow, pressure, level, temperature, and chemical dosing in STP processes.
Calibrate and maintain sensors, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves.
Maintain PLC/SCADA systems and ensure integration with field instruments.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans for all instrumentation and control equipment.
Diagnose and resolve instrumentation faults and control issues promptly.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all instrumentation complies with environmental and safety regulations.
Maintain up-to-date records of calibration certificates, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.
Project Involvement:
Support the commissioning of new systems and upgrades.
Collaborate with project and process engineers to ensure instrumentation design meets operational needs.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination:
Liaise with suppliers and contractors for the procurement and servicing of instruments.
Review and approve technical specifications from vendors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in instrumentation in a water/wastewater treatment or process plant environment.
Strong knowledge of process control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS).
Familiarity with industry standards such as ISA, IEC, and relevant environmental regulations.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and technical drawings.
