The Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing instruments and control systems used in process control and automation systems across industrial operations. Key Responsibilities

Design and Development

: Design, develop, and select appropriate instrumentation and control systems for new and existing processes. Prepare and review instrument specifications, control system diagrams, and wiring schematics. Ensure the selection of the correct materials, instruments, and tools for the process.

Installation and Commissioning

: Oversee the installation, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation equipment and control systems. Ensure systems meet operational requirements and standards. Conduct field checks and system testing for proper functionality.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on instrumentation and control systems. Troubleshoot issues with instrumentation equipment, control loops, and systems. Work to resolve operational issues by analyzing performance and recommending improvements.

Monitoring and Calibration

: Monitor the performance of instruments to ensure optimal operation and accuracy. Calibrate instruments regularly to ensure reliability and precision. Ensure the accuracy of process data and compliance with industry standards.

Safety and Compliance

: Ensure all instrumentation systems meet safety standards and industry regulations (e.g., IEC, ISA, NFPA). Contribute to safety audits and ensure that instrumentation systems comply with safety requirements. Assist in hazard analysis, risk assessments, and emergency procedures related to instrumentation systems.

Documentation and Reporting

: Prepare and maintain documentation, including instrument specifications, control system diagrams, and test reports. Provide detailed reports on instrument performance, issues, and recommendations. Document all troubleshooting and maintenance activities for compliance and operational history.

Collaboration and Communication

: Work closely with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, process, etc.) for system integration and project execution. Provide technical support and training to staff on instrumentation and control systems. Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and contractors regarding instrumentation-related matters.

Required Qualifications

Education

: Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience
