Instrumentation Technician for Resin Manufacturing
Position Overview
The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all instrumentation and control systems in the Resin manufacturing facility. The role ensures that reactors, distillation systems, utilities, and process safety instruments function reliably to maintain product quality, plant efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
Instrumentation Maintenance & Calibration
Install, calibrate, and maintain pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, level transmitters, pressure transmitters & other instruments used in resin production.
Ensure accuracy of process instruments as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Perform preventive maintenance on DCS, PLC, SCADA, and control loop systems.
Process Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Monitor instrumentation for reactors, distillation units, heat exchangers, and storage tanks.
Diagnose and rectify faults in field instruments, control valves, alarms, and interlocks.
Support operators during process upsets to maintain safe and efficient operations.
Safety & Compliance
Maintain safety instrumented systems (SIS), emergency shutdown (ESD) systems,
and alarms.
Ensure compliance with ISO, OSHA, and local environmental regulations.
Maintain records of calibration, test certificates, and inspection logs.

Project Support & Upgrades
Assist in commissioning new instrumentation and control systems.
Participate in modification, upgrade, and expansion projects.
Provide technical support for automation improvements and energy efficiency initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting
Maintain calibration reports, breakdown history, and maintenance schedules.
Support preparation of instrumentation SOPs, P&ID updates, and preventive maintenance checklists.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of instrumentation used in chemical/resin process industries.
Hands-on experience with PLC/DCS/SCADA systems.
Understanding of P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control logic.
Familiarity with hazardous area equipment (ATEX/IECEx).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of safety protocols for handling flammable and hazardous chemicals.
Education & Experience
Diploma / ITI / Certification in Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
3-5 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in chemical or resin manufacturing.
Exposure to alkyd resin or similar batch process industries preferred.
Certification in calibration & PLC is an advantage.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
