In Store Sales Executive – Paint Outlet

Job Description

The In-Store Sales Executive is responsible for managing customer interactions at the paint outlet, understanding customer needs, providing accurate product recommendations, and ensuring an excellent buying experience. The role includes promoting paint products, managing counter sales, coordinating color matching, maintaining inventory display, and meeting sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Customer Sales & Support



Greet and assist walk-in customers, contractors, and painters with product selection. Understand customer requirements for paint type, shade, finish, and quantity. Provide professional product recommendations based on application (interior, exterior, waterproofing, wood coating, etc.). Demonstrate color cards, shade fan decks, and digital color visualizers to help customers choose suitable colors. Prepare and generate sales invoices or quotations accurately.

2. Product Knowledge & Promotion



Maintain strong knowledge of the company's full product range (emulsions, enamels, primers, waterproofing, etc.). Explain product features, benefits, application methods, and coverage details. Upsell complementary products such as putty, brushes, rollers, and primers. Promote ongoing schemes, offers, and painter loyalty programs.

3. Store Operations



Ensure proper display and labeling of products, shades, and promotional materials. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with store manager for replenishment. Maintain cleanliness, visual merchandising standards, and safety in the store. Operate tinting machines and ensure accurate shade preparation and maintenance.

4. Customer Relationship Management



Build long-term relationships with painters, contractors, and repeat customers. Collect and record customer details for future engagement and loyalty programs. Handle customer feedback, queries, and complaints promptly and professionally.

5. Reporting & Coordination



Maintain daily sales records, stock reports, and customer interactions. Coordinate with backend, warehouse, and delivery teams for order fulfillment. Submit daily/weekly sales reports to the Store Manager.

Key Skills & Competencies:



Strong customer service and communication skills. Sound knowledge of paint products, color combinations, and finishes. Basic understanding of billing and POS (Point of Sale) systems. Ability to operate tinting and color mixing machines. Sales-oriented, proactive, and target-driven attitude. Good organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications & Experience:



Education:

Minimum 12th pass or Diploma; Graduation preferred.

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in retail sales, preferably in paint, hardware, or construction material stores.

Technical:

Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, POS software).

Language:

Proficiency in English and local language.

Performance Indicators (KPIs):



Achievement of daily/monthly sales targets. Customer satisfaction and feedback score. Store footfall conversion rate. Accuracy in billing and shade matching. Repeat customer ratio and loyalty program participation.
