The Installation, Onsite Test & Commissioning Lead - Loco Kavach will be responsible for leading installation, retro-fitment, integration, and commissioning of Kavach units in locomotives across Indian Railways. The role requires deep technical expertise in locomotive systems, hands-on experience in brake interface integration, and strong leadership in managing field teams during installation and commissioning phases..

Installation & Retro-fitment: Lead the installation and retro-fitment of Kavach units in various types of Indian Railways locomotives. Ensure correct placement, wiring, and integration of Kavach hardware with locomotive systems. Review and interpret loco interface wiring diagrams to plan and execute installations. Validate system compatibility with different locomotive models and configurations. System Integration & Interfaces: Integrate Kavach with brake interface units and ensure seamless functionality. Conduct detailed checks for locomotive-specific interfaces including traction, braking, and communication systems. Troubleshoot interface issues and coordinate with design/engineering teams for corrective actions. Onsite Testing & Commissioning: Develop and execute onsite test procedures for Kavach installation in locomotives. Conduct functional testing, fault simulations, and end-to-end system validation. Ensure successful commissioning, acceptance, and certification as per RDSO and Indian Railways standards. Leadership & Coordination: Lead field installation teams and supervise contractors/vendors during site activities. Coordinate with railway depots, workshops, and project stakeholders for smooth execution. Monitor project progress, resolve onsite issues, and ensure adherence to timelines. Safety, Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Indian Railways safety standards and RDSO guidelines. Maintain high standards of installation quality, documentation, and reporting. Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for railway staff and field engineers.

Technical Skills:



Strong technical knowledge of locomotive systems and Kavach retro-fitment. Hands-on experience with brake interface units and Kavach system integration. Proficiency in reading and interpreting loco interface wiring diagrams. Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead and manage field installation and commissioning teams. Strong stakeholder coordination skills with Indian Railways and RDSO.

Desired Skills:



Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Railway Engineering or related field. 8+ years of experience in locomotive installation, integration, or commissioning (preferably in railway signaling/train protection systems). Prior experience with Kavach, ETCS, CBTC, or similar train protection systems is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements



Willingness to travel extensively across Indian Railways sites for installations and testing. Familiarity with Indian Railway operations, depot practices, and retro-fitment processes. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and timely execution of projects.
