SDET specializing in API backend testing

is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for backend systems and APIs. This role blends software development and quality assurance, ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-performing backend services.

Responsibilities

Develop and

maintain

automation frameworks

for backend systems and APIs (REST/ gRPC ).

Design and execute test cases

for functional, integration, performance, and security testing of APIs.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams

including developers, QA engineers, and product managers to define test strategies.

Implement CI/CD pipelines

for automated testing and continuous integration.

Monitor and analyze test results

, identifying root causes of failures and ensuring timely resolution.

Contribute to code reviews

and maintain high standards of test code quality.

Required Skills

Strong programming skills

in Java, Python, or similar languages.

Experience with API testing tools

like Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, or similar.

Knowledge of backend technologies

such as RESTful services, gRPC , microservices architecture.

Familiarity with test automation frameworks

(e.g., JUnit, TestNG, Selenium).

Understanding of

CI/CD tools

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or related field. 7+ years of experience in software testing and automation. Proven experience in backend/API testing and automation. Financial Services, Banking sector/domain experience
