Job Description

The Injection Moulding Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily manufacturing operations within the plastic injection moulding department. This includes managing a team of operators and technicians, optimizing machine efficiency, ensuring product quality meets specifications, and maintaining a safe and organized production environment. The supervisor will be a critical link between management and the production floor, driving continuous improvement and meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management

Lead and direct

the daily activities of production personnel, including machine operators, material handlers, and moulding technicians.

Monitor and adjust

production schedules to meet customer deadlines and efficiency goals (e.g., maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness - $OEE$).

Oversee and optimize

mould changeovers, setups, and process startups to minimize downtime and ensure first-pass yield.

Manage material flow

, ensuring timely delivery and proper handling of various plastic resins and additives.

Troubleshoot and resolve

routine moulding process issues such as short shots, flash, warp, and surface defects.

Quality and Safety

Ensure strict adherence

to established quality control procedures, including in-process inspection protocols and documentation.

Collaborate with the Quality Department

to investigate defects, implement corrective actions, and reduce scrap rates.

Promote and enforce

a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all company safety rules and $OSHA$ regulations.

Conduct routine safety checks

on equipment and work areas.

Leadership & Development

Train, mentor, and evaluate

team members on job performance, machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.

Conduct performance reviews

and address personnel issues, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Coordinate with Maintenance

for scheduled preventive maintenance ($PM$) and prompt repair of equipment.

Drive continuous improvement

initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving cycle times, and enhancing operational efficiency.
