We are looking for a skilled In-house Designer to create precise and visually compelling 2D and 3D product sample drawings. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in translating design concepts into technical drawings that will guide our manufacturing process, support sales presentations, and aid in product development. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive product design, excellent technical drawing skills, and proficiency in relevant CAD software.
Key responsibilities:
Develop precise 2D and 3D CAD models using AutoCAD and related design software for reverse engineering automotive parts and assemblies.
Interpret and convert physical automotive components into CAD models through measurements, sketches, and 3D scanning data.
Create detailed technical drawings and documentation necessary for manufacturing and quality assurance.
Collaborate with engineers, product designers, and manufacturing teams to validate CAD models and confirm structural accuracy.
Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, company specifications, and best practices.
Review and update existing CAD files to reflect changes resulting from design modifications or manufacturing feedback.
Assist in developing solutions to design challenges and contribute ideas for product improvement.
Required Skills;
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and 3D; familiarity with other CAD platforms (SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.) is an advantage.
Strong understanding of reverse engineering techniques, including physical part measurement, data capture, and 3D modeling.
Knowledge of automotive parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and engineering documentation.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Capability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
Good communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 12-18 months of relevant experience in CAD design and reverse engineering, preferably within the automotive sector.
Experience with 3D scanning equipment or data (preferred, not mandatory).
Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, casting, or plastic molding is a plus.
Knowledge of industry standards (ISO or equivalent) preferred.
