Project Role Description :

Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products (both remote and onsite) and for configured services running on various platforms (operating within a defined operating model and processes). Provide hardware/software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all server and network areas, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands. Work includes L1 and L2/ basic and intermediate level troubleshooting.

Summary: As an Infra Tech Support Practitioner, The Storage & Backup Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise storage and backup solutions across cloud environments. The role ensures data availability, protection, performance, and lifecycle management, while driving automation and operational efficiency. Roles & Responsibilities: Storage Management o Manage and optimize Azure NetApp Files including capacity planning, performance tuning, snapshot policies, replication, ANF backups, and lifecycle operations. o Administer Azure Storage Accounts covering provisioning, access control, lifecycle policies, encryption, replication (LRS/ZRS/GRS), and monitoring. o Support storage-related incident resolution, performance troubleshooting, and service health improvement. Backup & Recovery Operations o Operate and administer IBM VDP for backup, restore, and recovery activities across physical and virtual workloads. o Manage Azure VM Backups, Recovery Services Vault configuration, backup policies, restore testing, and retention governance. o Perform regular backup validation checks, restore simulations, and audit readiness for compliance. Automation & Optimization o Develop automation workflows using PowerShell, Ansible, or Azure Automation to streamline routine storage and backup tasks. o Implement automated reporting for capacity trends, backup compliance, failure analytics, and SLA tracking. o Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, and operational efficiency. Governance & Security o Ensure backup and storage configurations adhere to organizational security baselines and compliance requirements. o Perform SOC and PCI audit validations for the environment to ensure backup environment stability. o Manage access controls, RBAC, encryption keys, and secure data lifecycle practices. o Participate in DR planning, testing, and documentation. Collaboration & Support o Work closely with cloud, virtualization, database, and application teams to ensure smooth integration of storage and backup services. o Engage with OEM vendors (IBM, Microsoft) for issue resolution, patches, RCA follow-ups, and feature enhancements. o Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and runbooks. Professional & Technical Skills: o Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Backup and Recovery Systems, Netapp Storage Area Network (SAN) Administration, Microsoft Azure IaaS. o Hands-on experience with IBM VDP and enterprise backup administration. o Strong knowledge of Azure NetApp Files management and optimization. o Proficiency in Azure VM Backup, Recovery Services Vaults, and restore workflows. o Familiarity with Azure Storage Accounts, replication options, IAM/RBAC, lifecycle rules, and monitoring. o Experience in writing automation scripts (PowerShell/Azure CLI/Ansible). o Good understanding of ITIL processes--incident, change, and problem management. o Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. o Experience with IBM VDP VM implementation and appliance creation. o Experience with ANF cross-region replication, Azure Backup for SQL/File Shares, or third-party backup tools. o Knowledge of networking fundamentals and cloud architecture. o Certifications such as AZ-104 and Data protection are mandatory. Educational Qualifications: Btech or Equivalent Additional Information: Certifications such as AZ-305, NetApp NS0-series are preferred.
