We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

Introduction:

Infra Engineer aAEURA" System security role is part of SI Secops team and will be responsible to ensure that all SI servers are compliant with Barclays cyber policies and standards. Role requires good understanding of cyber vulnerabilities and threat assessment, access control and authentication, PKI, secrets, SSL certifications, encryption, Linux vulnerabilities and mitigation. Linux system admin knowledge is a must. This role requires working on weekends to fix identified server vulnerabilities and carry out firmware upgrades. During weekdays colleague will participate in regular Linux server support activities like monitoring incident tickets, chat channels, user emails, alerts etc. and responding to them in timely manner and troubleshooting and debugging of various issues. Candidate will be contributing to Secops automation initiatives and hence good knowledge of scripting and automation tools is good to have.

What will you be doing?

aAEURAa, a, a, Review Vulnerability and threat assessment as published by GIS.
aAEURAa, a, a, Co-ordinate with SI Engineering team and vendors (Red hat / HP / Dell / Lenovo etc.) for any assistance required for fixing identified vulnerabilities.
aAEURAa, a, a, Download the latest packages from vendor site and prepare patch sets to be deployed on all SI servers.
aAEURAa, a, a, Co-ordinate with application teams for scheduling and deploying security patches on SI servers
aAEURAa, a, a, Ensure necessary security fixes are implemented on all servers as per GIS mandated timelines.
aAEURAa, a, a, Upgrade firmware on all servers to the latest release.
aAEURAa, a, a, Contribute in automation of server patching / secops automation a,
aAEURAa, a, a, Remain updated on Barclays cyber standards by interacting with CSO teams and advice SI team on the same.
aAEURAa, a, a, Participate in regular BAU activities like monitoring incident tickets, chat channels, user emails, alerts etc. and responding to them in timely manner.
aAEURAa, a, a, Co-ordinating with across various IT teams to troubleshoot/debug and fix server issues.
aAEURAa, a, a, Provide on call rota support as and when required (16 * 7).
