Job Description

Conduct daily hospital rounds to inspect the documentation on infection control measures.

Educate doctors and staff on the infection control practices set forth by the hospital.

Regularly evaluate the activities related to infection prevention

Advice nurses on infection control measures with respect to individual patient care.

Explain laboratory reports relevant to the prevention/control of infection to nursing staff

Collect relevant clinical data from doctors to facilitate the infection control program.

Coordinate reporting and provide feedback on instances of any communicable diseases to concerned authorities.

Advice, coordinate and evaluate the isolation techniques.

Advice medical/Nursing personnel regarding patient placement to minimise the spread of infection.

Detection of incidence of hospital acquired infection and identification of the cause of infection.

Ensure that all hospital employees are vaccinated against infectious diseases, as per hospital policy.

Conduct regular infection control committee meetings. Document and follow up the action plan.

Plan infection control audits and implement corrective actions

Participate antimicrobial stewardship program

Monitor and guide housekeeping and pest control activities

Advise best practices of waste and linen management and monitor the daily activities

Investigate outbreaks of infection and identity root cause

Act as specialist advisor to all doctors, nursing staff and other hospital staff where relevant in matters relating to infection prevention/control

Monitor infection control aspects of all departments especially Nursing,lab,CSSD,OT, Housekeeping

Provide patient and family education regarding infection prevention and control

Prepare and update infection control guidelines and SOPs

Participates in all appropriate and necessary meetings and committees

Be responsible for training curriculum development

Prepare weekly, monthly and annual training schedule of each department and present report to management

Prepare training materials for theoretical and practical aspects of clinical procedures

Evaluate clinical competency and knowledge of staff

Set evaluation criteria, conduct exams

Contribute to in service, inter department training programs and new employees orientation programs

Work in collaboration with nurse supervisors and department heads

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
