To prevent, monitor, and control hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) by implementing infection prevention and control practices as per NABH, WHO, and hospital policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesInfection Control & Surveillance
Conduct regular surveillance of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) such as CAUTI, CLABSI, VAP, SSI, etc.
Collect, analyze, and report infection data to the Infection Control Committee (ICC).
Monitor compliance with hand hygiene, PPE usage, isolation practices, and biomedical waste management.
Policies & Compliance
Implement and monitor Infection Control Policies as per NABH standards.
Ensure adherence to standard precautions and transmission-based precautions.
Participate in internal audits and support NABH / external audits.
Training & Education
Conduct regular infection control training for nursing, clinical, housekeeping, and support staff.
Educate staff on hand hygiene, needle stick injury prevention, spill management, and outbreak control.
Environmental & CSSD Monitoring
Monitor cleaning and disinfection practices in patient care areas.
Coordinate with housekeeping and CSSD for sterilization and disinfection processes.
Conduct environmental surveillance when required.
Occupational Health & Safety
Monitor needle stick injuries and exposure incidents.
Ensure vaccination and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) protocols are followed.
Maintain records related to staff health and safety.
Outbreak Management
Identify, investigate, and assist in controlling infection outbreaks.
Coordinate with microbiology, clinicians, and quality teams during outbreaks.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain infection control registers, reports, minutes of ICC meetings, and audit records.
Prepare monthly infection control reports and dashboards.
Minimum 5-8years of clinical experience
At least 5 year experience or training in Infection Control (preferred)

Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices
Familiarity with NABH standards
Good communication and training skills
Data collection and basic analysis skills
Attention to detail and documentation skills
