Job Description

Role Purpose:



To ensure excellence in patient care, the supervising staff to deliver nursing services in a professional and comprehensive manner,in seamless coordination with allied disciplines such as consultants, operations/PRO, pharmacy, dietetics, maintenance, etc.

Key responsibilities of ward incharges:

Essential Functions:

The duties of the ICN are primarily associated with ensuring the practice of infection control measures by nursing and housekeeping staff. Thus, the ICN is the link between the HICC and the wards/ICUs, etc., to identify problems and implement solutions.

In addition, the ICN conducts infection control rounds and maintains the registers.

The ICN is also involved in educating paramedical staff, including nurses and housekeeping staff.

Implements hospital-wide infection control program.

Supervises infection control policies and practices throughout the hospital

Identifies and analyzes infection control needs throughout the hospital.

Provides consultation to all patient care units and support services areas of the hospital.

Monitors all patient care areas and service areas for infection control compliance and needs.

Collects data and formulates an infection control report monthly.

Conducts in-services and training programs on infection control issues.

Consults directly on patients who have infection control issues.

Reports any infection control concerns directly to the Director of Medical Services.

Reports communicable diseases to the Utah County Health Department.

Manages the employee health program, which includes providing immunizations to employees and maintaining employee health records.

Presents information on Infection Control and Employee Health Programs during New Employee orientation.

Completes employee health screens on new employees and as indicated by hospital policy.

Monitors employee immunizations and PPDs and maintains employee health records.

Attends and/or conducts in-services and training programs designed to increase professional knowledge and growth.

Manages the regular Infection Control Committee meetings.

Attends administrative meetings as scheduled.

Member of assigned hospital-wide committee as a representative of nursing- Environment of Care Committee, Life Safety Committee.

Interfaces directly with community agencies concerning infectious diseases and infection control issues.

Develops and writes policies and procedures for infection control, under the direction of the Infection Control Committee.

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?35,000.00 per month
