Infection Control Officer / Nursing Superintendent / Hospital Administrator

Job Summary:
The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control (IPC) policies and programs across the hospital to minimize healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor the hospital's
infection control program
in compliance with NABH and WHO guidelines.
Conduct
regular surveillance
of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) and maintain proper records.
Collect, analyze, and report data on infection trends to the Infection Control Committee.
Ensure proper
sterilization, disinfection, and biomedical waste management
practices.
Monitor
hand hygiene compliance
among staff and provide feedback.
Conduct
infection control audits
in various departments (ICU, OT, wards, laboratories, etc.).
Educate and train healthcare workers on infection prevention protocols.
Participate in outbreak investigation and control measures when required.
Ensure
environmental cleaning standards
and coordinate with housekeeping for compliance.
Assist in
formulating and updating infection control policies, SOPs, and guidelines.
Ensure adherence to
PPE protocols
and safe needle disposal practices.
Participate in committee meetings and prepare periodic reports for management review.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing (Registered with State Nursing Council)
Certification:
Infection Control Training / Diploma in Infection Control (preferred)
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of nursing experience; 1 year in infection control preferred.
Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of infection prevention, sterilization, and waste management standards
Analytical and reporting skills
Good communication and training ability
Attention to detail and observation skills
Work Schedule:
Regular working hours with flexibility for audits, rounds, or emergencies
Compensation:
As per hospital norms / based on qualification and experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
