Job Overview
Apollo Hospitals Jabalpur is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Infection Control Nurse (ICN) to strengthen our infection prevention and patient safety protocols. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing hospital-wide infection control programs, conducting surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and ensuring compliance with NABH and international infection control guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols across all hospital departments.
Conduct infection surveillance, monitoring, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs).
Train nurses, doctors, and hospital staff on infection control best practices, including hand hygiene, sterilization, and PPE usage.
Investigate infection outbreaks, assess root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure strict adherence to NABH, JCI, and WHO infection control standards.
Oversee the proper sterilization and disinfection of hospital equipment, operation theaters, and patient care areas.
Conduct regular infection control audits, risk assessments, and quality checks to prevent cross-contamination.
Develop and implement hospital-wide vaccination programs for patients and healthcare workers.
Work closely with hospital microbiologists and quality control teams to minimize infection risks.
Educate patients and their families on infection prevention measures during hospital stays and post-discharge.
Required Skills & Qualifications
GNM / B.Sc. Nursing with a specialization or certification in Infection Control Nursing (ICN).
Registered with the Madhya Pradesh Nursing Council.
Strong knowledge of infection control policies, microbiology, and epidemiology.
Familiarity with hospital infection control software and surveillance tools.
Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, microbiologists, and hospital management.
Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to manage infection outbreaks.
Up-to-date knowledge of national and international infection control guidelines (NABH, JCI, WHO, CDC).
