The Industrial Safety Garments Merchandiser acts as the key liaison between buyers/customers and the production team. The merchandiser is responsible for managing orders from development through to final delivery, ensuring that customer specifications for safety garments (e.g., high-visibility clothing, flame-resistant garments, protective coveralls) are met in terms of quality, cost, compliance, and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
? Client Communication & Order Management
? Act as the primary point of contact for international and domestic buyers.
? Understand customer requirements including fabric types, garment features, compliance needs and delivery timelines.
? Handle costing, sampling, order confirmation, and documentation.
Sampling & Product Development
? Coordinate with design and sampling teams to develop initial samples and pre-production samples (PPS) based on buyer tech packs and specifications.
? Ensure that samples meet required safety and technical standards before submission.
? Arrange for lab testing and certifications where required.
Production Coordination
? Work closely with production, sourcing, and quality teams to ensure smooth execution of orders.
? Track production status and follow up on deadlines to meet shipping schedules.
? Resolve any production-related issues in collaboration with the production team.
Sourcing & Material Management
? Coordinate with suppliers for the procurement of certified raw materials such as FR fabrics, reflective tapes, zippers, trims, and accessories.
? Ensure materials meet technical and compliance requirements for industrial safety wear.
Compliance & Documentation
? Ensure all garments comply with relevant safety standards.
? Handle all compliance documentation, lab test reports, inspection protocols, and buyer manuals.
? Assist in audits or customer inspections when required.
Costing & Negotiation
? Prepare accurate costing sheets including fabric, trims, labor, testing, compliance, and overheads.
? Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to maintain profitability while meeting buyer expectations.
Logistics & Delivery
? Coordinate with logistics and shipping departments to ensure timely dispatch.
? Prepare packing lists, commercial invoices, and necessary export/import documentation.
Education:
? Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Production, or Business Administration.
Experience:
? 3-5 years of relevant experience in garment merchandising, preferably in industrial safety wear.
? Strong understanding of technical safety garment requirements and buyer expectations.
Skills:
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
? Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
? Knowledge of global safety standards.
? Familiarity with ERP systems, Excel, and email correspondence.
? Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple orders simultaneously.

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
