We are looking for an Industrial Designer who will be responsible for defining and executing the aesthetic and ergonomic design of our humanoid robots. He/she will help shape the robot's physical form factor, material selection, and overall user experience - creating systems that are not only high-performing but also approachable and emotionally engaging for humans across diverse environments.
Key Responsibilities:
?
Concept Development:
Generate, iterate, and refine creative concepts for humanoid robot designs through sketching, 3D modelling, and physical mock-ups that balance functionality, aesthetics, and usability.
?
Materials and Finishes (CMF):
Define the appropriate colours, materials, and finishes to achieve the desired look and feel for the robot's overall character.
?
Prototyping:
Create both low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes for testing and refinement, translating design intent into tangible physical models.
?
Design Presentation:
Clearly and effectively communicate design concepts and proposals to key stakeholders and management using visual tools and presentations.
?
Design for Human-Robot Interaction (HRI):
Address the unique design challenges of humanoid robotics, focusing on elements like form, posture, and proportion to make robots feel approachable and safe for human co-existence.
?
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers, robotics engineers, and software and AI teams to ensure designs are technically feasible and manufacturable.
