The Indian Curry Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting authentic Indian curry dishes while maintaining Espire Hospitality's standards of quality, taste, hygiene, and consistency. The role requires expertise in regional Indian cuisines, spice blending, gravies, and traditional cooking techniques suited for hotel and restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian curries (North Indian, Mughlai, Punjabi, South Indian gravies, etc.) as per menu specifications.
Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation of all curry preparations.
Plan daily mise-en-place and ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and sanitation as per FSSAI and hotel SOPs.
Monitor food quality, freshness, and storage of raw materials.
Assist in menu planning, food costing, and minimizing wastage.
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in curry section operations.
Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely service.
Handle guest requests, special dietary needs, and customization professionally.
Ensure proper usage and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Desired Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Indian spices, gravies, and traditional cooking methods.
Ability to handle high-volume kitchen operations in a hotel environment.
Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
Time management and ability to work under pressure.
Team player with good communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma/Certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent (preferred).
Minimum
3-5 years of experience
as an Indian Curry Chef in a hotel or reputed restaurant.
Prior experience in
hospitality industry is mandatory
