Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indian Chef specializing in authentic North Indian cuisine, with a strong emphasis on gravies (curries), tandoor operations, and kebab preparation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of traditional recipes, spices, and cooking techniques to deliver an unparalleled dining experience. This role requires a creative individual who can maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation while managing kitchen operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:



Gravy & Curry Mastery:

Prepare a wide variety of authentic North Indian gravies (e.g., Makhani, Korma, Kadai, Butter Masala, Shahi, etc.) ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and presentation for all related dishes.

Tandoor Operation:

Expertly operate and maintain a traditional tandoor oven. Prepare and cook various breads (Naan, Roti, Paratha) and a range of marinated dishes to perfection.

Kebab & Appetizer Preparation:

Skillfully marinate, prepare, and cook a diverse selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian kebabs and appetizers, utilizing traditional methods and spices.

Menu Development & Innovation:

Collaborate with the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to refine existing recipes, develop new menu items, and introduce innovative concepts while respecting authenticity.

Kitchen Management:

Oversee daily kitchen operations for your station, ensuring all food preparation meets high standards of quality, hygiene, and safety regulations.

Inventory & Cost Control:

Monitor inventory levels of spices, ingredients, and supplies specific to North Indian cuisine, assisting with ordering to minimize waste and control food costs.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the rest of the kitchen brigade, mentor junior staff, and maintain a positive, professional working environment during busy service periods.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all dishes are prepared and served according to the restaurant's specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience:



Proven experience as an Indian Chef, Curry Chef, Tandoori Chef, or similar role in a reputable restaurant setting. Demonstrable expertise in North Indian cooking techniques, spice blends, and the preparation of traditional gravies and curries. Hands-on experience operating a commercial tandoor oven. Extensive knowledge of various kebab styles and marination techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
