Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes, including North Indian, South Indian, Mughlai, and regional specialties.
Develop and innovate new recipes while maintaining the restaurant's quality and taste standards.
Ensure proper portioning, plating, and presentation of dishes.
Manage mise-en-place, daily prep, and stock levels for Indian cuisine.
Monitor food freshness and uphold strict hygiene and sanitation standards (FSSAI compliance).
Coordinate with the Head Chef and kitchen team for smooth service operations.
Train and guide junior cooks, commis, and kitchen helpers.
Manage inventory, minimize waste, and ensure cost-effective kitchen operations.
Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation across all menu items.
Collaborate on menu engineering, food costing, and seasonal specials.
Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as an Indian Chef or Demi Chef in a reputed restaurant/hotel.
Expertise in Indian spices, herbs, cooking techniques, and regional preparations.
Strong knowledge of tandoor operations and curry preparations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen.
Good communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Basic understanding of food costing, kitchen safety, and hygiene practices.
Culinary diploma or relevant certification preferred.
