You will be responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes, managing kitchen operations, ensuring hygiene standards, and contributing to menu development.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a wide variety of Indian dishes, including North Indian, South Indian, and regional specialties.
Ensure food is prepared in accordance with standard recipes and presentation specifications.
Supervise kitchen staff involved in Indian cuisine preparation.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in the kitchen.
Monitor food stock, reduce waste, and manage kitchen inventory related to Indian food.
Assist in the development of Indian menus and seasonal specials.
Coordinate with the purchasing department to source authentic Indian ingredients.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff in Indian cooking techniques.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Indian Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or similar establishment (typically 5+ years).
In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
Culinary degree or diploma preferred but not mandatory with sufficient experience.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and maintain consistency.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Good communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
